We may share your data with trusted third-party service providers who help us operate our platform and fulfil services, including:

  • Stripe (payment processing): Stripe Privacy Policy
  • Hosting, analytical and infrastructure providers
  • Fulfilment partners for physical product delivery

5.1. Law Enforcement, Legal Requests and Duties:

We may need to disclose your data in response to valid legal requests, such as court orders, subpoenas, or when required by applicable laws. We'll only do this if we believe in good faith that we're legally required to share this information, whether or not we notify you.

If we believe it's necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of FindMee, our users, or the public, we may share your data. We'll make this decision in good faith, with or without notifying you.

5.3. In connection with a change in corporate control:

If FindMee undergoes a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your Personal Information may be transferred to the involved parties as part of that transaction.

5.4. Upon Your Further Direction:

Our platform allows you to integrate various third-party services into your websites. These services may include:

  • Applications and widgets from our App Market
  • Payment providers
  • Third-party designers
  • Other external tools and services

When you choose to use these third-party services, they may access and process your users' Personal Information in the following ways:

a) Framed Pages: When you embed third-party content using frames, these services may collect information from your users directly.

b) App Market Developers: Third-party developers who create apps for our App Market must follow our Partner Agreement, which restricts how they can access, store, and use Personal Information.

c) Social Media Features: If you add social media integrations (like "Facebook Connect" or "Google Sign-in"), these features may collect user information such as names, email addresses, and IP addresses.

Important: FindMee acts only as an intermediary platform for these third-party services. We share your users' information with them only when you choose to use their services. We're not responsible for how these third parties handle Personal Information once they receive it.

We strongly recommend reviewing each third-party service's privacy policy before installation. While we carefully select our partners, you should understand the privacy implications of using any third-party service.

6. Location Data

If you use Findmee’s location-sharing features, we may process your real-time or static location to help coordinate meetups or share emergency information. You control when and how location data is shared. We do not use location data for tracking or advertising.

7. Users-of-users' Personal Information

What We Process

FindMee collects, stores and processes certain data of Users-of-Users ("Users-of-Users Information"). We do this solely on behalf of our Users and at their direction. For example, Users can import email contacts from services like Gmail or manage contacts through their User Website. We store these contacts on the User's behalf.

Our Role as a Processor

Under UK GDPR, FindMee acts as a "Processor," not a "Controller" of Users-of-Users Information. The Users who control and operate their Websites are considered the "Controllers" of this information.

Data Processing Location and Protection

We process Users-of-Users' data within the United Kingdom, European Union, or other approved territories that ensure adequate data protection according to the European Commission. Any data processing outside these areas follows approved transfer mechanisms.

User Responsibilities

As a User, you are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the security and integrity of Users-of-Users' Personal Information
  • Obtaining necessary consents and permissions
  • Providing required data subject rights and fair processing notices
  • Publishing clear privacy policies on your User Websites

Information for End Users

If you are a visitor, user, or customer of any of our Users, please note that FindMee has no direct relationship with you regarding your Personal Information. For any requests about your data:

  • Contact the relevant User (Website owner) directly
  • Direct any requests to access, correct, amend, or delete your information to them
  • We will respond to removal requests from our Users within the legally required timeframe (30 days under GDPR)
8. Physical Product Fulfilment

When you order a FindMee product or accessories, we collect shipping and customisation data to fulfil your order. This data is retained only as long as necessary for fulfilment, returns, and legal compliance.

9. User Content and Visibility

Content you post on Findmee (e.g., profile data, location, photos) may be publicly visible depending on your privacy settings. Even after deletion, content may persist in cached versions, on other users’ devices, or third-party platforms where it was shared.

We advise against posting sensitive personal or proprietary information. You can adjust visibility settings, but no platform can guarantee absolute privacy.

10. Communications from FindMee

10.1. Promotional messages

To keep you informed about our services and special offers, we may send you promotional content through various channels including email, text messages, in-platform notifications, and marketing calls. These communications may come directly from FindMee or from our authorised partners acting on our behalf.

Your preferences matter to us. You can easily opt out of receiving these promotional communications at any time by either notifying FindMee directly or using the "unsubscribe" or STOP instructions included in every promotional message you receive.

10.2. Service and billing messages

To ensure you get the most out of our services, we need to send you essential communications about your account and service status. These may include maintenance notifications, responses to your support inquiries, payment reminders, subscription updates, or important changes to our Services.

Because these messages are crucial to providing you with reliable service, they are considered a fundamental part of our Services. As such, they cannot be opted out of while you maintain an active FindMee account. If you wish to stop receiving these essential communications, you would need to deactivate your account completely.

11. Your Rights

You have the following rights under UK GDPR:

  • Access your personal data
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Delete your data (“right to be forgotten”)
  • Port your data to another provider
  • Object to certain processing
  • Restrict processing in specific circumstances

To exercise your rights, contact us at [email protected]. We may request identity verification before fulfilling your request.

If you have concerns about how we handle your personal data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

12. Account Deletion

Important: Permanently deleting your FindMee account will: - Erase all your Personal Information from our databases - End your access to all FindMee Services - Make your account and data irretrievable - Prevent future account recovery or data retrieval - Make it impossible for support agents to locate your deleted account.

If you wish to delete your account, please contact [email protected] or use the account settings dashboard. Once deleted, your data cannot be recovered.

13. Data Retention

We retain your Personal Information and your Users-of-Users' data for as long as necessary to provide our Services and maintain your active User Account.

Even after you deactivate your User Account or stop using particular Services, we may need to retain your Personal Information to:

  • Comply with our legal obligations
  • Resolve disputes involving our Users or their Users-of-Users
  • Prevent fraud and abuse
  • Enforce our agreements
  • Protect our legitimate interests

When determining appropriate retention periods, we carefully evaluate several factors, including: the nature and sensitivity of the data, potential risks of unauthorised access, our processing purposes, and relevant legal requirements.

14. International Transfers

If your data is transferred outside the UK or EU, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions, to ensure they meet our strict data protection standards.

15. Security

We implement technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including:

  • HTTPS secure access across most of our Services
  • Industry-standard SSL/TLS encryption for payment information
  • Our payment processor maintains regular PCI DSS certification
  • Continuous system monitoring for vulnerabilities
  • We work with trusted third-party providers to implement ongoing security updates and infrastructure improvements.

However, we must be transparent: no online platform can guarantee absolute security. To better protect your information, we strongly recommend that you:

  • Create strong, unique passwords for your User Account
  • Avoid sharing sensitive Personal Information that could cause substantial harm if disclosed
  • Use secure communication methods when sharing sensitive information
  • Exercise caution when posting in public areas of our Services

Please note that certain areas of our Services offer varying levels of security. For example, public Support forum tickets and non-SSL pages provide less protection than private areas. Additionally, email and instant messaging are not secure communication methods for sensitive information.

16. Third-party websites

Our Services may contain links to other websites or services. While we carefully select our partners, we are not responsible for such websites' or services' privacy practices. Before providing any Personal Information, please review the privacy statements of each website and service you visit after leaving our Services, as this Privacy Policy does not apply to those third-party websites and services.

17. Changes to This Notice

We may update this Privacy Notice to reflect changes in law, services, or data practices. Substantial changes will be communicated via email or platform notifications. The effective date will be updated at the top of this document.

We encourage you to regularly review this Privacy Policy to stay informed about how we protect your privacy. The current version of our Privacy Policy applies to all information we hold about you and your Users-of-Users across our Website, Mobile Apps, and other Services.
